Your Role
Work with systems in order to manage the data and provide managers with high quality and timely information for decision making. Using Sage 50 accounts to oversee the following:
Reconciling bank accounts and credit card receipts and checking petty cash floats and preparing and inputting resulting journals onto the system.
Processing other journals.
Check and verify payroll reports, including overview of monthly payroll journal.
Support with debt management issues.
Calculating and posting monthly prepayments and accruals.
Control of the preparation, reconciliation and submission of the VAT return.
Control and oversight of the weekly cash flow statements and treasury management.
Preparation of monthly management reports.
Responsible for financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes for the organisation.
Feed into the financial reporting requirements of the organisation.
Ensure the organisations financial systems are robust and compliant.
Provide financial information, advice, support and training to budget managers, ensure any potential financial problems are identified so that corrective action can be taken.
Contribute to the production of annual accounts and statutory planning.
Ensure accurate records are maintained to meet external legal/tax requirements.
Overseeing systems for ensuring the maximisation of income due to the organisation.
Understand the funding environment of the organisation.
Ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of finance systems and make recommendations for improvements and implementation of new systems.
Expert knowledge and experience of all financial
Liaise with key Stakeholders on all financial matters.
Manage project workload ensuring the efficiency of the organisation at all times.
Input into financial impact of capital projects proposals and purchase options.
Ability to use experience and knowledge to identify income and expenditure trends, and project year end positions.
Maintain ethical working practices
Support the Organisation in achieving its mission and values
Liaising with external auditors and regulatory bodies
You will line manage our Admin Manager, Appointee and our Senior Finance Assistant

Who you are
Must have AAT qualification and it would be desirable to be part qualified CIMA or equivalent.
Must have knowledge of local authority funding
