Finance Manager

Hythe, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Streetspace Group is a design, manufacture and install organisation delivering architectural structures and external systems through its specialist brands -- Streetspace and metroSTOR. With integrated in-house design, engineering, manufacturing and installation capability, we deliver high-performance environments and infrastructure for education, public realm and housing sectors across the UK and internationally.

The Role

We are looking for a hands-on, commercially grounded Finance Manager to take ownership of day-to-day finance process and act as the financial backbone of the business. This role sits at the heart of operations -- working closely with manufacturing, warehouses, project delivery and leadership -- turning data into insight and helping the business improve margin and cashflow.

You will be a visible presence on site, comfortable in the factory and warehouses, and confident engaging non-finance colleagues. This is a senior role with real ownership, and opportunity for progression as the business continues to scale.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Control & Reporting

Own the monthly close and management accounts, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and clarity

Maintain robust control over WIP, stock, labour and overhead absorption

Produce meaningful performance reporting by value stream, product system and delivery stage

Ensure compliance with all taxes including CIS reporting

Support budgeting, forecasting and cashflow planning

Operational Finance

Work directly with manufacturing and project teams to:

- Improve margin visibility

- Understand cost drivers

- Greater transparency and insight

- Support operational decision-making with clear, practical financial insight

Systems & Process Improvement

Strengthen finance processes and controls as the business grows

Improve how data flows through ERP and reporting tools

Champion better discipline around stock, WIP and project tracking

People & Leadership

Manage and develop the finance team, with a strong focus on mentoring and raising standards

Create a finance culture that is supportive, rigorous and respected across the business

Work closely with senior leadership and external advisors

What We're Looking For

Experience & Capability

Strong manufacturing accounting background (minimum 2 years proven technical accounting knowledge)

Proven experience with WIP, stock, labour and overhead recovery

Comfortable operating in a hands-on, operationally complex environment

Experience improving processes rather than just maintaining them

Experience with CIS

Qualifications

CIMA preferred or other recognised accounting qualification.

Leadership & Style

Confident people manager with a mentoring mindset

Pragmatic, down-to-earth and credible with operational teams

A clear communicator who can explain numbers in plain English

Systems

Strong systems instinct and data discipline

ERP with manufacturing experience essential
