Dear new Finance Manager

It's funny to think you're reading this, even though we haven't actually met yet. But, given that you're the Finance Manager who's going to take our amazing business to the next level, we just wanted to say hi.Tomi, our Financial Controller is especially excited to meet you - first because he's great and a pleasure to work with but, secondly, because he knows just how fascinating a time this is to be joining Buyapowa, as we enter our biggest ever period of worldwide growth.

THE ROLE

As a key member of the Finance team at Buyapowa, this role plays a crucial part in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting while maintaining the integrity of day-to-day financial operations. From managing core accounting functions such as accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and the general ledger, to preparing monthly management accounts with insightful analysis, this role supports the financial health and strategic decision-making of the business. You'll also assist with budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.


This is an exciting time to join Buyapowa's Finance team. As the business continues to scale and win new enterprise clients, your work will directly support sustainable growth and operational excellence.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Ensure timely and accurate delivery of month-end and year-end financial reports. Manage all aspects of financial accounting, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions. Prepare monthly management accounts with insightful commentary and variance analysis. Balance sheet reconciliation. Assist in the annual budget process and regular reforecasting activities. Review contracts and determine appropriate accounting treatment. Ensure compliance with all relevant tax, legal, and regulatory requirements. Statutory submissions (VAT returns & CT61's). Update weekly cash flow. Support the Financial Controller on ad hoc activities/projects

Qualifications & Experience

Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) with 2 - 5 years post-qualification experience. Educated to degree level. Strong understanding of UK accounting standards and tax regulations. Experience with financial reporting systems (e.g., QuickBooks). Proficient in Excel

Skills & Attributes

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly. High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
