We are hiring a Finance Manager for the LNER contract, managing all financial activities, reporting, and client relationships.
You'll operate across dual period-ends (12 internal, 13 client-side), requiring strong systems knowledge and exceptional organisation.
Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you'll be deep in the detail while maintaining a macro view of contract performance. Direct client contact and commercial partnership are central to this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
Lead month-end close for internal and client reporting cycles
Produce P&L, balance sheet reconciliations, and cash flow forecasting
Deliver management accounts with detailed variance analysis and commentary
Monitor contract profitability and flag risks/opportunities
Forecasting & Analysis:
Build robust forecasts and scenario models across the contract
Lead annual budgeting and provide rolling forecasts
Conduct deep-dive profitability analysis across revenue streams and cost centres
Support commercial discussions with financial insight
Client & Stakeholder Management:
Primary finance contact for LNER - build strong relationships with client counterpart
Present financial reports confidently to client and internal stakeholders
Collaborate across operations, commercial, procurement, and supply chain teams
Systems & Improvement:
Maintain accurate data in MS Dynamics 365/SAP
Identify process improvements and ensure robust financial controls
Essential Requirements:
ACCA/CIMA qualified or final stages
Finance Manager or Controller experience in Manufacturing or FMCG
Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
MS Dynamics 365/SAP experience highly desirable
Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
Client-facing and stakeholder experience with excellent communication skills
Ability to manage competing priorities across dual reporting cycles
Full UK driving licence
