The role




An exciting opportunity has arisen in our team for a highly motivated and hands-on Finance Manager to join us as we continue our growth into 2025.


Hire Space is transforming the way businesses manage their event programmes, combining next-generation technology with industry expertise to help companies run events more efficiently and effectively. As Finance Manager, you'll be at the heart of our finance function, ensuring we have the processes, insight, and discipline needed to support our continued expansion.


Reporting directly to our newly appointed Finance Director, you'll take ownership of all day-to-day finance and accounting operations, while also supporting the design and implementation of scalable financial processes that will underpin our future growth. This role is perfect for a newly qualified accountant who is eager to take on significant responsibility, gain broad exposure to the inner workings of a high-growth tech company, and make a meaningful impact on the way we operate.


Your strong technical skills, commercial mindset, and eye for detail will enable you to deliver accurate financial reporting, manage cashflow effectively, and ensure compliance across all areas of the finance function. At the same time, you'll use data and insight to help shape decision-making across the business, partnering with teams to monitor performance, forecast growth, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.


By taking a proactive and innovative approach, you'll develop scalable systems and processes that will evolve with us, supporting both the Finance Director and the wider leadership team as we continue to expand. Importantly, you'll ensure that our finance data is accurate, timely, and actionable, providing the foundations for smart decisions that will drive Hire Space forward.

Key Responsibilities



Manage all day-to-day finance and accounting activities. Own the month-end close process, including preparing and reviewing all key reconciliations to ensure accuracy. Assist with regularly reconciling our client accounts/transactions, to ensure real-time visibility for our client facing teams Prepare detailed monthly management reports, providing critical insights into the company's financial performance. Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing, and supporting our Commercial Operations team. Manage payroll and expense claims. Prepare and file quarterly VAT returns and other statutory filings. Work closely with teams across the business to improve financial processes and systems. Assist with (and get experience/exposure to) budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Work with and gain direct exposure to senior management, including the CEO / Board members.

You should apply if you:



A qualified or part qualified (<1 year to qualification) accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) You are confident and proficient with accounting reconciliations and have strong Excel skills. These are critical components of the role. You have a high degree of agency and are a proactive problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You're highly accountable and proactive, you'll often spot the problem before others do. You're an excellent communicator with strong attention to detail. You're detail-oriented, structured, and calm under pressure. You're passionate about technology and want to work in an early-stage startup environment.

It would be a bonus if you:



Experience in a technology or tech-enabled business (marketplace, SaaS or tech-enabled services ideal). You've worked across payroll, payments, month-end close, and reporting; An interest in, or exposure to the events industry. Familiarity with Xero or similar accounting software.

Logistics




This is a hybrid remote / in-person role. Our client base is predominantly in London and it is important that you are able to collaborate with your team, attend ad-hoc events and attend our away days in-person.

You can expect to be in/around London on average 2-3 days per week

, usually working from our central London office location, a few minutes walk from London Bridge Station.
