About the role
Our Balfour Beatty Highways business has a terrific opportunity for a Finance Manager to join our Highways Finance Leadership team, working with Highways to deliver the long term strategic goals whilst providing financial assurance on the short term financial objectives.
Balfour Beatty Highways maintain, manage and operate major highway networks across the UK and support local authorities creating communities where people want to live work and play.
What you'll be doing
As a Finance Manager you will

• Have responsibility for a portfolio of projects, working with and providing challenge to the project leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting

• Consolidation of monthly reporting and forecasting/budgeting for your portfolio

• Flash

• PBCS monthly reporting

• 13 week cashflow

• Ownership of feeders

• Provide technical contract understanding to ensure that financial rules are followed in line with Group procedure and accounting for complicated contract mechanisms.

• Lead by example - working with the Highways finance leadership to develop a strong learning culture, improving the engagement of the wider finance team and promoting a culture of continued improvement

• Value add - look for tangible ways to make Balfour Beatty money and hold on to cash for longer, through working with teams to develop commercial initiatives or to challenge the status quo

• Control - ensuring that the balance sheet is correct, and there are robust controls in place to manage our business and ensure there are no surprise
