Job Description
This interim role sits within the Finance Business Partnering team and reports directly to the Head of Finance. You will act as the finance lead for key service areas, offering strategic financial insight, shaping decision-making, and managing a team of five finance professionals., * Provide expert financial advice and strategic insight to senior management within the Environment and Communities Directorate
- Lead on strategic financial planning, budget setting, monitoring and reporting, ensuring information is accurate, timely and meaningful
- Produce high-quality financial analysis, clearly explaining cost drivers, performance trends and operational implications for the service
- Work collaboratively with corporate finance colleagues to support budget processes, financial monitoring, year-end closure and wider improvement initiatives
- Ensure the integrity of financial controls, processes and record-keeping while driving continuous service improvements
- Lead, support and develop a team of five staff, promoting high performance and professional growth
- Recent experience as a Finance Manager in a local government Environment, Communities, or Place finance team * Strong team management and leadership skills * Advanced Excel and financial modelling ability * CCAB accountancy qualification, or part qualified and actively studying for such a qualification
