The Opportunity
Haberdashers' Monmouth School is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Manager. Working closely with the Director of Finance, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient operation of the school's finances, including charitable and trading entities..
This is a varied and rewarding position, offering the opportunity to lead a small team and use and develop expertise across a diverse range of financial processes.
This is a permanent, full-time role for 37.5 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide line management and oversight of the finance staff
• Support the annual audit and preparation of financial statements across all entities
• Manage bank and general ledger reconciliations
• Oversee intercompany reconciliations and cross charging
• Ensure costs are allocated correctly and statutory accounting procedures are followed
• Maintain compliance with tax and charity regulations
• Prepare management accounts, VAT returns, and regulatory reports
• Administer Teachers' Pensions and monthly payroll processes
• Handle insurance claims and support annual renewals
• Drive the effective use of ICT and accounting software to improve processes

About You
You'll bring a recognised accounting qualification or equivalent experience, with proven ability to manage accounts in a busy financial environment. Confident in finance systems and payroll, you combine strong IT skills with excellent communication and people skills. You're highly motivated, detail-focused, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
