We are seeking a skilled and experienced Finance Manager on a part-time basis to provide reliable support to our organisation.

Strong IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Excel with macros and pivot tables) and a quick aptitude for learning new technology Experience using QuickBooks. Strong numerical skills with experience in a finance related role is essential. A recognised accountancy qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent). Evidence of continued professional development. An understanding of grant funding and funded projects, or alternatively experience in an R & D environment, would be advantageous but not essential. Experience navigating R&D tax claims or tax relief would also be advantageous.

The Iconiq Role



As our Finance Manager, you will play a vital role in overseeing and managing the financial operations of the organisation, ensuring robust financial controls, compliance, and strategic financial planning. The role supports budget setting, reporting, and cash flow management, and provides key insights to support decision-making at a senior level. The role also includes full oversight of day-to-day finances, management of QuickBooks, and ensuring strong financial controls are in place across multiple entities.

This is a hands-on and strategic role suited to someone who is confident working independently, can manage complexity, and has strong experience with multi-country project finances.

Manage company-wide financial operations across UK and EU entities. Produce accurate monthly management accounts and cash flow forecasts. Track departmental budgets, variances, and advise on corrective actions. Oversee accounts receivable and payable, payroll liaison, and VAT submissions. Ensure compliance with HMRC and EU financial regulations and reporting. Manage all aspects of invoicing and credit control. Provide financial insight and reporting to directors and project leads. Support strategic decision-making with financial modelling and risk analysis. Assist in audits and preparation of statutory accounts (in partnership with external accountants). Maintain and reconcile QuickBooks accounting system. Process journals, bank reconciliations, and financial entries accurately. Implement and maintain appropriate financial procedures, policies, and controls. Support financial planning and budgeting cycles. Oversee all financial aspects of EU-funded projects. Monitor budgets, eligible costs, match funding, and cash flow for EU projects. Prepare and submit financial reports, forecasts, and funding claims in line with funder requirements. Liaise with project partners and auditors to ensure financial compliance and clarity. Maintain auditable records and documentation in line with EU project requirements.

You will be joining an international team of the brightest minds that are determined to deliver excellent outcomes for our clients, and us. This is a part-time, permanent role and we require 16 hours per week with one day to be spent in the office per week. You could be fully office based if you prefer.

Some travel nationally and internationally may be required.

A competitive salary of 45k - 60k FTE
