Who are we looking for
Take full responsibility for the day to day running of the finance function, ensuring excellent financial control.
Act as an internal business partner identifying and explaining performance, through weekly/monthly reporting to support improvements within the business.
Ensure Hemsec complies with all statutory reporting guidelines and deadlines.
Also Involved with other ad-hoc projects/duties that may not necessarily fall under the traditional Finance Manager remit.
Key Responsibilities:
The ownership of Hemsec's Accounts, accounting entries and maintenance
The completion of monthly management accounts and dashboards.
Partnering with all other departments to: hit targets; resolve issues; support continuous improvement
Completion of all VAT and Customs aspects of the local business (UK) including Returns.
Nominal Ledger postings, including accruals and prepayments, depreciation, currency conversions and general journals
Fixed asset tracking, recording, and recognition, including disposal transactions
Monthly budget variance reporting
Cashflow forecasting and cash management
Working closely with the Head of Finance on routine and ad hoc financial activities
Management
Line Manager responsibilities for the well-being and team performance of the Accounts Assistant
Support the Accounts Assistant with their daily tasks of transaction processing on the internal Financial Software (Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Cash & Bank, weekly Payroll, etc)
Reporting
Continually review overheads/ business related costs and identify any potential cost savings for the business, with reasoning and risks of any potential changes
Continually reviewing processes, business and financial, to identify potential improvements in control, reporting, effectiveness, efficiency, decision-making, and quality across all business areas
Compliance
Preparation for and participation in audits ensuring completion of any audits that are required for the UK, internally or externally, including ISO, Tax and Statutory reporting for the UK
Ensuring that the Credit Policy is maintained, including continual assessment of credit limits and credit risk of existing and potential customers and suppliers
Safe working practices throughout the business
Knowledge & Skills
Open to Qualified by experience, Fully qualified or studying towards CIMA, ACCA, ACA.
Previous experience of working in a manufacturing desirable but not an essential requirement.
Works well within a small finance team and as part of Hemsec's Management Team.
Used to successfully hitting deadlines and committed to delivering to best professional practices.
Experience of working with an ERP system will be of additional value.
Experience of working in Sage would be helpful but not essential.
What we offer:
37.5 hours per week - Monday to Thursday 8.30am - 5pm, Friday 8.30 - 3.30pm
25 Days holiday, in addition to bank holidays
