The Role
As Finance Manager, you'll be at the heart of our financial operations, leading a small team and delivering insightful reporting that empowers decision-makers across the firm. You'll manage the Management Accounts and Accounts Payable functions, ensuring robust financial control, compliance, and strategic support.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
Mentor and manage a small, high-performing finance team
Analyse performance vs. budget, delivering actionable insights
Collaborate on rolling forecasts and annual budgets
Support Board reporting and strategic planning
Oversee financial controls, statutory compliance, and annual audit
Review payroll reports and ensure accurate payments
Partner with support functions and department heads
Stay current with accounting standards and Solicitors Accounts Rules
Contribute to ad hoc projects and continuous improvement
What We're Looking For
Essential:
ACA, ACCA, CIMA (or equivalent) qualified
Proven experience in a hands-on finance role
Strong UK accounting knowledge (VAT, PAYE, statutory reporting)
People management and development skills
Desirable:
Experience in LLPs or professional services
Familiarity with Solicitors Accounts Rules
Knowledge of Anaplan or similar forecasting tools
Personal Attributes:
Detail-oriented with sharp analytical skills
Organised, self-motivated, and deadline-driven
Excellent communicator and team leader
