We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Finance Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial management and accounting, with a proven ability to lead financial planning initiatives and ensure the efficient operation of financial services. This role is pivotal in overseeing accounts payable, cost control, and overall financial strategy, contributing to the long-term success of our organisation. The post holder will ensure the Board complies with its fiscal responsibilities and all regulatory requirements are complied with
Duties
Liaise with the trustees, CEO and relevant managers to produce multi year financial plan and capital expenditure profile
Lead the annual budget setting process, liaising with the CEO and relevant managers to produce income, costs and year end projections that are agreed by the Senior Management Team and Board of trustees.
Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
Advise, report to and consult with the CEO on all matters relating to the management of the financial resources of the isle of Wight Steam Railway
Manage financial accounting processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
Lead the financial planning process, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
Supervise accounts payable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
Implement cost control measures to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives and drive financial performance.
Prepare detailed financial reports for stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators.
Ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures while maintaining high standards of integrity.
Requirements
Proven experience in financial management and accounting within a corporate environment.
Strong knowledge of financial services, including regulatory requirements and best practices.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a finance team.
Proficiency in financial planning techniques and tools.
Experience managing accounts payable processes effectively.
Strong analytical skills with a focus on cost control and efficiency improvements.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
