What Your Role Will Entail
As our Financial Operations Lead, you'll be at the heart of our financial function, managing everything from daily activities to long-term forecasting. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Producing
monthly financial statements
, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analysis.
Overseeing all accounting and bookkeeping processes to ensure complete accuracy and compliance.
Delivering
detailed financial analysis
to senior leadership to inform crucial business decisions.
Spearheading
budgeting and forecasting
initiatives to support our ambitious expansion plans.
Handling all statutory filings, including VAT returns, payroll, and supporting external audits.
Providing guidance and mentorship to a junior team member to ensure operational excellence.
Engaging in key
commercial negotiations
and managing business relationships with suppliers and clients.
Maintaining our credit and commercial insurance policies to safeguard the company's financial interests.
Assisting with submissions and documentation for business development opportunities.
Identifying and implementing continuous improvements to our financial processes and systems.
Your Experience and Skills
We are looking for someone with a proven track record and the right combination of technical and leadership skills.
A minimum of
5 years of experience
in a senior finance role within a contracting or specialized project-based business with a revenue exceeding
18 million
.
A strong history of preparing and presenting comprehensive financial reports and strategic business insights.
Expertise in
SAGE 50
and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with intricate spreadsheet modelling.
In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, compliance, and best practices.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate financial data for non-finance professionals.
A
qualified accountant
, such as
ACA, ACCA, or CIMA
, or another recognized certification like
CPA or CFA
