Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and qualified (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) Finance Manager to support the Finance function in maintaining accurate general ledgers and delivering a robust monthly close process. This role will play a key part in strengthening financial controls, improving processes, and supporting both UK and international finance initiatives within a dynamic, fast-paced organisation.
Working for this leading name in the Sports world, the successful candidate will be a proactive, detail-oriented accountant with strong technical knowledge, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to operate effectively in a complex environment.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the Financial Controllers with maintaining clean general ledgers and managing monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
  • Establish and streamline key finance processes across the business.
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Actively participate in the roll out of finance initiatives, including finance systems implementations.
  • Approve daily accounting entries across sales ledger, purchase ledger, and cash transactions.
  • Prepare and review month-end journal entries and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Prepare financial schedules, ledgers, and balance sheet reconciliations in line with company policies.
  • Support the preparation of monthly management reporting packs for submission to the Finance Director and UK & International finance teams, including variance analysis.
  • Approve client and office bank payments within defined thresholds.
  • Review aged debtor and creditor reports and present monthly updates to the Finance Director.
  • Review new deal contracts and apply appropriate revenue recognition policies.
  • Support Group and UK statutory audits across multiple entities.
  • Implement and maintain strong financial controls, escalating issues where appropriate.
  • Identify process efficiencies and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Assist with special projects and ad-hoc requests as required.
  • Provide support to the international finance function as required.
  • Manage relationships with high-profile internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA), ideally with 3 years' post-qualification experience in an industry role.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and broad technical accounting knowledge.
  • Solid understanding of IFRS, UK GAAP, and US GAAP.
  • Good working knowledge of core finance processes (AP, AR, GL accounting, banking).
  • Proven ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team-oriented, motivated, and conscientious approach to work.
  • Good Excel proficiency, including V-LOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and SAP is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience managing key stakeholders.
