Finance Manager

to oversee all financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the finance team, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to maintain high standards of financial management. Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger processes, including account reconciliations and journal entries. Work with internal analyst and external management and financial accountants to facilitate financial reports, including monthly P&L reports, and balance sheet reconciliations. Submit VAT returns and undertake monthly reconciliations. Ensure compliance with financial regulations (GAAP, HMRC filings, VAT returns) and strengthen internal controls. Assist with annual audits and external reviews. Manage ad hoc projects and analyse scenarios with a solution-oriented mindset.

What We Offer

Permanent full-time position (40 hours per week) with flexible working hours. Please note that this role is office based. A salary of 45,000 - 50,000, with opportunities for progression to Finance Director within five years. A supportive management team and the chance to shape the future of the business. Essential Qualifications and Skills

Proficiency in financial management software (Sage 50 Accounts) and Microsoft Office. Strong leadership skills, with experience managing and mentoring teams - you need to be a team player. Ability to work independently under tight schedules while managing multiple priorities. Knowledge of payroll and experience in food production, agriculture, or manufacturing sectors is a bonus.

Our Ideal Candidate

AAT Level 3/4 qualified or degree level qualification with 3+ years of experience in a similar financial management role. Our turnover is circa 100 million - experience in a similar sized business is beneficial. Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues. Detail-oriented, demonstrating accuracy and commitment to all tasks.
