Job Description

Butler Rose is exclusively recruiting a Finance Manager for an education provider in Exeter. This is a key role where you will guide the financial direction of the organisation. You'll lead a talented team, managing budgets, and ensure every decision supports their mission to deliver outstanding education.

As a key member of the leadership team, your responsibilities will include:

Develop and implement financial strategy, budgets, and forecasts Lead and inspire Finance and I.T. teams to deliver accurate, timely, and efficient results Oversee payroll banking, and all financial transactions Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, financial regulations, and best practice Collaborate with senior leaders, HR, auditors, and external partners to maintain strong financial governance Provide guidance and training to budget holders and SLT colleagues Drive value for money, internal controls, and continuous improvement initiatives
The successful candidate will ideally be a formally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) although those who are part-qualified or qualified by experience with relevant skills will also be considered. Experience within an educational or public sector setting is beneficial but by no means essential.
