The Finance Manager (UK/EU) will lead the accounting function for the UK and EU operations (50m+
revenue), ensuring accurate financial reporting in compliance with UK GAAP and supporting ad hoc
reporting as required by Group Finance. This role will contribute to professionalising the finance
function, managing the UK team, supporting UK tax matters, and playing a key role in monthly and
quarterly close process. The ideal candidate can manage multiple deadlines in a fast-moving organization.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all accounting activities for the UK&EU division, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and internal policies
Lead the month-end processes in the UK & EU, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to Group Finance
Review UK subsidiary statutory accounts
Preparing monthly accounts for the largest UK entity and reviewing preparation for other UK entities and Paris entity
Own Balance sheet reconciliations across the region
Assist in simplifying the UK structure with assistance from the team and tax advisors
Support external audit processes, including preparation of schedules and coordination with auditors
Lead UK & Europe Revenue recognition
Optimise Cashflow (Treasury Management) through efficient AP processes
Assist with UK VAT liaise with external advisors
Establish and implement development plans for all team members and monitor the performance of the team members against established goals
Act as a key stakeholder in the ongoing development and optimization of the NetSuite ERP and Quadient AP solution
Assist with the transition to the new FRS 102 standards
Provide technical accounting guidance and ensure alignment with group-wide accounting standards
Own the drafting and maintenance of regional process memos and accounting guidance, ensuring alignment with Group policies and local regulations
Support with delivering ad hoc analysis to the Group Financial Controller
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
You will be fully ACA or ACCA qualified.
At least 5 years' accounting experience with at least 2 years within industry.
Experience in Audit preferred, ideally at Big 4
Experience within a multi-site environment
Strong understanding of IFRS/ UK GAAP
Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems
Experience within logistics, service and/or PE backed businesses is a plus
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Excellent Microsoft Office skills
