The role will have overall responsibility for the finance function supported by an inhouse Business Relationships Co-ordinator. Our financial software is Xero.
? To be responsible for all aspects of financial management and control including producing budgets/reforecasts, monthly financial reports, cashflow forecast and reporting to key stakeholders such as our Boards and Funders, as well as submission of annual statements to accountants in order to meet Charity Commission requirements
? Overall responsibility for tax matters - Gift Aid, VAT etc
? Continuous improvement of our financial reporting specifically reviewing the Balance Sheet and restricted reserves
? Managing and liaising with our external providers along with the Business Relations Co-ordinator
? Cashflow management and forecasting including a monthly rolling 12 month cashflow forecast
? Support funding applications for core and project development by producing project budgets and project reports as required. Undertake monitoring and implementation of, and liaison for financial aspects of funding agreements and grant offers with ACE, NLHF and others
? General finance support to the SMT and Boards to enable Creswell to operate well financially e.g. monitoring costs, pricing strategy etc
? Monitoring Restricted & Unrestricted funding balances and reviewing the Balance Sheet
? Undertake monitoring and implementation of, and liaison for financial aspects of funding agreements and grant offers
? Overall supplier management and guidance/mentoring of Business Relations Co-ordinator
? Developing operational financial policies, procedures and documentation, including financial risk management
? Supporting the development of the organisation's business plan
? Ensuring efficient and effective budget management, maximising cost-savings and value for money across the organisation.
BOARD AND FINANCE COMMITTEE REPORTING:
The board meets 4 times per year and the Finance Committee (which also acts as the Trading Company Board) meets monthly.
Reporting includes a full financial update for each meeting, including, management accounts budget variance analysis, rolling 12 month cashflow forecasts, reforecasts of current budget (if appropriate).
This needs to be accompanied with clear supporting commentary to enable the Board to make well-informed decisions and if necessary recommend mitigations if the budget is not on track. The monthly reports are also provided to ACE.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Demonstrable experience of working with teams during periods of change and strategic review
Qualified Accountant or QBE
Superb interpersonal and communication skills. Able to clearly translate and present financial information to various audiences
Strong stakeholder management skills, able to quickly build relationship of trusts with multiple stakeholders
Able to combine strategic financial thinking with a collaborative can-do practical attitude
Significant experience of business planning, financial planning and regulatory reporting
Significant experience of monitoring and managing budgets
Commercial business skills to support the development of the trading wing of the organisation
Experienced in the cultural and heritage sectors (preferred but not essential)
