At Mayflower, we're excited to be recruiting for a new Finance Officer (Apprentice) role. This position will support the organisation by carrying out a range of financial tasks under the guidance of the Management Accountant, and working with the wider Finance team, supporting the timely and accurate processing of financial transactions. Alongside this hands-on experience, the successful candidate will work towards achieving their AAT level 3 qualification as part of their apprenticeship journey.
The key tasks and responsibilities of this role include:
Preparing and issuing sales invoices
Processing weekly payment runs
Implementing debt collection procedures and ensuring all relevant systems are kept up to date
Responding to customer queries promptly and professionally
Processing purchase invoices in a timely manner
Performing supplier statement reconciliations
Handling supplier information requests
Completing nominal ledger reconciliations
Analysing and reconciling company credit card transactions and employee expenses
Supporting ad-hoc projects as needed
It is essential that the Finance Officer Apprentice has the following skills and personal qualities:
GCSE Math's and English minimum grade C/5
A Level, NVQ, BTECH or equivalent in a Finance, Math's or Business-related subject, or AAT level 2 qualified
IT proficient, especially in MS office applications with a good understanding of Excel
High level of numeracy and good analytical skills
Good attention to detail
Ability to manage deadlines
Be able to work as part of a team
Great communicator who can engage with different stakeholders
High level of self-motivation and use of initiative.
The role will be offered based on a 18-month contract enabling completion of AAT level 3 which is 15-month course.
Salary is: 23,809 pro rota (19,047) with benefits.
Working hours: 30 hours a week which can be either over 4 or 5 days between the hours of 8.30am-5pm.
