With a growing portfolio of work across both the public and private sectors, we are looking for a Finance Officer to join our busy head office finance team
Job Overview:
The Finance Officer will play a key role in ensuring the day-to-day financial operations of the company are on track, ensuring accurate record-keeping, timely reporting, and compliance with financial regulations.
The Finance Officer will be responsible for managing core financial processes including accounts payable, accounts receivable, CIS submissions, and project cost tracking. The successful candidate will ensure robust financial control, timely reporting, and contribute to forecasting and budgeting processes.
Main Roles and Duties
Maintain accurate financial records including purchase and sales ledgers
Process invoices and ensure timely payments
Reconcile bank accounts and manage cash flow forecasts
Assist with month-end and year-end accounts
Provide financial insights to management for decision-making
Have a strong knowledge of Sage 50 accounting software.
Match POD with invoices
Deal with internal/external invoice queries
Logging and coding purchase invoices to ledger/Sage
Reconcile supplier statements
Experience of Credit Control and managing account customers
Check daily cash sales/ reconcile with bank statement
Match credit card receipts with statement
Maintain job material sheet
Maintain petty cash spreadsheet
General administrative duties and data entry

Experience and Skills include:
2+ years of experience in a finance or accounts role, preferably in the construction industry
AAT Qualified or willing to work towards it
Good working knowledge of accounts systems and practices
Extensive working knowledge required of Sage 50 and Microsoft Office Suite
Attention to detail and accuracy are essential
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team of professionals
The ability to self-manage time to ensure effective administration.
Logical in thought and action
A team player with a "can do" attitude and good interpersonal and communication skills.
A willingness to entertain new ideas and seize challenges that arise.
