To support and secure the smooth running of finances within the Compnay, adhering to financial polices and under the guidance of the external accounts officer.
General Duties of the Job
To be responsible for compliance with financial regulations.
To have knowledge and be able to work across all account areas.
To report on and support queries raised by colleagues.
To report directly to the Finance Manager daily.
To support the Finance Manager in the review and updating of financial procedures and policies.
To deal discretely with confidential information
To monitor the returns made to HMRC and highlight any concerns
Ensure big projects are planned into cash flow - Maintain cashflow and forecast.
To be responsible for the safe depositi of all cash/cheques received to the company, ensuring the homes forward all monies in a timely manner.
To offer training to any staff on understanding financial reports / procedures / Software - Care Master / Sage accounts and SAGE Payroll.
Assist care homes, process payroll process and staff queries, HMRC and pension submissions
Complete and submit ONS Business Surveys as per deadlines.
To monitor and report on expenses in regards to recruitment/staff agencies
To issue budget reports and monitor on expenditure overspent
Reconciliation for all suppliers and customers accounts
Reconciliation of all existing bank accounts
Match all suppliers invoices against POs and update the ledger
Process all orders/purchasing as per home requirements and as per budgets
Liaise with suppliers in regards to different financials(payment plan agreements, rates, cost, invoices)
Record petty cash expenses, reconcile and process top up on monthly basis
Support for Year End AND Management Accounts Reports (Trial Balance, Balance Sheet, P&L)
Support Finance Manager and Directors with any ad hoc duties/tasks
Person Specification
A working knowledge of accounting procedures.
Experience of organising and providing administrative assistance in an office environment.
Experience of handling a wide range of financial enquiries.
Ability to produce accurate, effective and relevant documentation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent Telephone manner.
Ability to work as part of a team as well as on own initiative.
Able to follow instructions accurately.
Excellent organisational skills.
An ability to understand and use a variety of computer-based systems including Microsoft Word, Excel PowerPoint and Outlook. Sage 50 Accounts and Sage Payroll experience would be desirable but it is not mandatory.
Working towards a professional qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, ICAEW
