Join our team as a Finance Officer at Genio!





We're looking for a Finance Officer to join us on a 12-month FTC.



As Finance Officer, you'll take complete ownership of our accounts payable, ensuring seamless and timely payments to suppliers and employees. You'll also be a key driver in enhancing our financial processes and efficiency, whilst having experience in managing payroll processes from start to finish.



You'll work closely with our wider finance team, but to give you an idea of who you might meet throughout the process:

Samirah - Management Accountant

Kayley - Finance Officer




What you'll be doing:




Accounts Payable and Supplier Communications:

Primarily managing purchase ledger, including invoice entry, approvals, and supplier communication, preparing bank payments, reconciling accounts, managing prepayments and processing staff expenses.

Payroll Management:

End to end ownership of monthly payroll, working with our EX team and outsourced payroll providers to maintain payroll data and ensure accuracy of payments.

Month End Close:

Accurately and promptly process transactions, support sales ledger and credit control, reconcile key balance sheet accounts, and assist with monthly management accounts, including budget variance analysis.

Internal and External Stakeholder communication:

A key point of contact for key areas of responsibility, including responding to queries from people around the business and supporting other key stakeholders with ad-hoc requests.

Fixed Asset Register:

Monitoring and maintaining our Fixed Asset Register.

VAT Returns:

Preparing quarterly VAT returns and maintaining compliance in line with regulations and Genio policies.



About you:





We are looking for someone with:


Previous experience in managing payroll from end-to-end is essential. Strong knowledge of financial processes and practices. Excellent communication skills to communicate with stakeholders both internally and externally. A good understanding of financial compliance and regulations.

Preferable but not essential:


Previous experience in accounts payable is strongly desirable. Previous experience of working with Xero, Pento, and Spendesk is advantageous.



Salary and benefits:





33,000-37,500 dependent upon experience



? 33 days annual leave (Inclusive of bank holidays)

Location:





We have a beautiful office space in Leeds and we love it when we get together to collaborate in person. We typically operate a hybrid way of working, however for this role we support remote working within the UK, if you live more than 50 miles from the office.

Screening interview with someone in our Recruitment team (30 minutes).

First Stage interview with Samirah and Kayley (1 hour)

Final stage interview which includes a 1 hour culture and values interview, plus a 30 minute task. You will be meeting with Samirah and Dan.


Ahead of your interview you will receive a confirmation email outlining who you'll be meeting and when, anything you'll need to prepare in advance and any resources we think you might find helpful.
