About Us

We are a growing group of businesses spanning multiple sectors, including a software division, a multi-site automotive service operation, and a fast-paced e-commerce arm. Our SaaS platform is scaling rapidly, and we're looking for a Finance Officer who understands the financial nuances of subscription-based businesses as well as broader group finance functions.

Role Purpose

As Finance Officer, you will take ownership of core financial functions across the group, with a particular focus on the SaaS division's recurring-revenue model. You'll be responsible for VAT, payroll, cash forecasting, and month-end close, while also preparing and presenting management accounts to support decision-making. The role requires strong attention to detail, discretion, and the ability to manage both traditional accounting processes and the complexities of SaaS finance.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with HMRC requirements. Manage monthly payroll accurately and on time. Oversee SaaS revenue recognition, deferred income, and subscription metrics. Complete month-end reporting, including balance sheet reconciliations. Prepare and present management accounts for review by senior leadership. Produce accurate and timely cash flow forecasts. Maintain and monitor accurate financial records across multiple businesses and cost centres. Track and report SaaS KPIs such as MRR, ARR, churn, LTV, and CAC. Handle confidential information with absolute discretion. Collaborate with operational and SaaS product teams to ensure accurate and insightful reporting.

Essential Skills & Experience

AAT Level 3 qualification (minimum). Previous experience in a finance role within a SaaS or subscription-based business. Proven knowledge of revenue recognition principles in a SaaS environment. Strong Excel skills, including advanced formulas, VLOOKUPs, and Pivot Tables. Demonstrated experience preparing and reconciling management accounts. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, scaling environment. Professionalism and discretion in handling sensitive information.

Desirable Skills

Experience using Sage, Zoho Books, or other cloud-based accounting platforms. Experience working across multiple businesses or divisions. Familiarity with SaaS metric reporting tools or CRM/ERP integrations.
