Role Overview
We are looking for a
Finance & Operations Manager
to take ownership of day-to-day finance, compliance, and operational administration across the group, while helping build scalable financial systems as the business expands.
This role is hands-on and commercially focused. You will be trusted to deal directly with banks, accountants, and regulators, produce meaningful financial information, and help shape how the finance function grows over time.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinance & Accounting
Maintain accurate financial records using
Xero
Produce management accounts, P&Ls, forecasts, and cashflow reports
Prepare and submit VAT returns
Manage payroll and associated compliance
Support year-end accounts and liaise with external accountants
Banking, Lending & Compliance
Complete bank, credit card, and Amex applications
Manage KYC, AML, and compliance checks
Prepare financial packs for lenders and potential investors
Create business plans and financial forecasts to support funding and growth
Operations & Administration
General office administration and financial documentation
Improve internal finance processes, controls, and reporting
Maintain organised records for audits, applications, and compliance reviews
Growth & Team Development
Support the development of a small in-house finance team as the group scales
Identify when additional finance support is required
Act as the internal go-to person for finance and compliance matters
Required Experience & Qualifications
AAT qualified (Level 3 or Level 4 minimum)
Strong working knowledge of
Xero
Solid understanding of UK VAT, payroll, and core accounting principles
Experience dealing with banks, lenders, and compliance processes
Highly organised, detail-driven, and commercially aware
Comfortable working in a fast-moving, multi-business environment
Desirable (but not essential)
ACCA / CIMA part-qualified or qualified
Experience in SME, group, or multi-entity businesses
Exposure to funding rounds, lending, or investor reporting
Interest in fintech, fitness, or high-growth environments
