The Financial Accountant will undertake a variety of duties supporting the financial reporting team (comprising of Senior Financial Accountant, Financial Accountant and Assistant Financial Accountant) to ensure the smooth and efficient provision of financial information to the business in this expanding, fast moving, high transactional volume business across 12 companies.
Summary of Responsibilities and Duties:
Working with the financial reporting team with all month end preparation and processes including fixed assets, commissions, marketing cost analysis, accruals and prepayments, fair value and cancellation provisions, P&L review
Working with the financial reporting team with monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Contribute to the development of profit centres and wider business reporting improvements
Support with technical financial reporting under IFRS standards
Review of internal processes and policies, identifying opportunities to streamline and automate
Assist with production of statutory accounts, ensuring compliance and accuracy
Review and analysis of tax returns and VAT, liaising with external advisors where required
Contributing to the development of budgeting and forecasting processes
Involvement in day to day support to the business, dealing with ad hoc commercial queries
Skills and Capabilities:
Experience in a similar role essential (or experience within a professional accounting firm)
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Strong team player with good communication skills
Strong excel skills (essential) and knowledge of NetSuite Oracle (beneficial)
Proactive and positive character, keen to learn and adapt in a very fast moving business
