We're seeking someone to join our Compensation Controller team as an Associate.
The Compensation Controller team is led globally from Glasgow and is part of Global Corporate Controllers. The function is responsible for financial accounting, control, and reporting, both internal and external, related to the firm's compensation and benefit plans globally.
The team are responsible for front to back accounting, control and reporting of compensation and benefits for the firm, as a result, team members perform a variety of functions within their roles offering a breadth of experience for the right candidate. For example:
Financial accounting across all GAAPS and legal entities
Close collaboration with accounting policy on interpretation and implementation of new accounting rules or accounting analysis of new compensation arrangements
Involvement in firm and finance-wide initiatives as an SME with accountability for assessing, planning and delivering all compensation & benefit related accounting and reporting impacts
Regulatory and statutory financial reporting at firm and subsidiary level including analysis and implementation of any new reporting requirements
Management reporting and forecasting for the CFO and other senior stakeholders
In the Finance division, we act as a partner to business units around the globe by providing management, review, analysis and advisory services of the Firm's financial and capital resources. This is an Associate within our Risk, Assurance, Governance & Control job family which provides oversight and monitoring of operational risk or third party/outsourcing for the global Finance division, validation and testing of financial and regulatory reports and reinforcement of regulatory requirements, policies and procedures.

What you'll do in the role:
Perform accounting and reporting tasks associated with employee compensation (Firm's largest P&L line)
Undertake financial analysis of data in accordance with key SOX control requirements
Reconcile and substantiate general ledger expense and balance sheet accounts
Prepare insightful analysis for other groups including HR, Tax and other teams across Finance
Participate in system enhancements including project focused activities and UAT testing
Adhere to, and where possible, enhance process documentation and the control environment
Identify and implement process efficiencies
Respond to and interact with key stakeholders including HR, IT, other Finance teams, Tax, Audit
Represent the function in wider office committees
Undertake other ad hoc tasks as required

Qualified / part-qualified accountancy qualification (preferred)
