We are seeking a skilled Financial Accountant to join our Finance Team on a fixed-term basis.

About the Role



This is a pivotal role responsible for the Trust's compliance with legislative and statutory reporting including charity VAT returns and gift aid returns. You'll support the Accounts Manager in the operation of the purchase ledger, perform month end routines ensuring all transactions are input in a timely manner and contribute to continuous improvement across finance operations.

Key responsibilities:



Ensure all purchase invoices for the Trust purchase ledgers are input in an accurate and timely manner. Preparation of charity VAT returns, Gift Aid returns, Payment Practices and ONS reporting. Processing of journals and perform month end routines. Management of the accounting systems and processes to ensure the delivery of the management reports to schools, budget holders and Trust departments. Respond to queries to support school and Trust budgeting and financial planning. Promote best practice and customer service across finance operations

About You:



Experience in finance roles, including systems administration and financial controls Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting and current VAT legislation Excellent Excel and Microsoft Office skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong communication skills
