We're looking for a Financial Accountant to join us on a 12-month maternity cover contract, supporting the Warwickshire Cricket Foundation and wider group with accurate reporting, strong financial controls and high-quality month-end delivery. This role plays a key part in producing management accounts, supporting audits and ensuring our financial records are maintained to a high standard.
Working closely with the Finance Manager, you'll gain exposure across the whole finance function; management accounts, statutory accounts, audits, reconciliations and operational finance. It's an ideal opportunity for a part-qualified accountant looking to broaden their experience in a supportive and fast-paced environment.
Duties
Warwickshire Cricket Foundation
Produce monthly management accounts with clear variance analysis
Maintain month-by-month budget phasing
Manage month-end processes, including accruals and prepayments journals
Intercompany reconciliations
Maintain the financial management system and ledger
Resolve supplier and customer queries promptly
Support external auditors with year-end audit queries
Prepare year-end statutory accounts journals as required
Warwickshire County Cricket Club
Support the Finance Manager in producing year-end group statutory accounts
Assist with annual audit processes for the Club and wider group
General
Provide flexible support to meet business and operational needs, including on match days

Experience
Degree in finance/accounting discipline (desirable)* Part-qualified chartered accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent)
Prior experience in a financial accounting or management accounting role (desirable)* Experience supporting audits or statutory accounts preparation (desirable)*
Skills
Excellent time management and ability to prioritise workloads.
High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data.
Proficient user of accounting/ERP systems.
Competent with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
