What we're looking for




We are seeking an experienced

Financial Accountant Contractor

to support a short-term 2 month data reconciliation project within a SaaS environment. The successful candidate will play a critical role in linking financial transactions to customer order forms, ensuring data integrity across systems, and helping narrate each customer's financial journey.


This position requires strong attention to detail, a solid understanding of SaaS financial metrics (particularly ARR vs. invoicing), and the ability to work independently with minimal instruction.

What you'll be doing



Financial Indexing:



Identify, locate, and index all current order forms and contracts Organize and store documents in Google Drive by customer Cross-reference with extracts from

Maxio

to identify missing order forms, producing a "delta" report of found vs. missing items

Financial Storytelling & Reconciliation:



Link transactions in Maxio to corresponding order forms Build a clear financial narrative for each customer, detailing: + Payments, credits, and upgrades
+ Contract start and end dates
+ Periods covered by credit notes
Ensure correct mapping of contracts for financial accuracy and reporting purposes

Transaction Classification:



Categorize transactions as

new business

,

renewal

, or

price increase

using defined classification rules Maintain data accuracy and consistency for future uploads into Maxio

System Data Preparation:



Produce an output file in

Excel

, properly formatted for system re-upload Ensure all records have accurate and unique contract IDs for migration

Who you are



Experience



2-5 years of relevant experience in

finance, data analysis, or accounting

. Experience within a

SaaS business

or

accountancy firm

supporting SaaS clients is essential. Advanced

Excel

skills (formulas, lookups, data cleaning, pivoting).Familiarity with

Maxio

(or similar financial systems) and

Xero

. Strong grasp of

ARR vs. invoice value

concepts. Understanding of

credit note allocation

,

contract structures

, and

basic P&L and cash flow principles

.
