This newly created role is all about ensuring the integrity of our financial reporting, supporting statutory obligations, and driving improvements in processes and controls. You'll be hands-on with month-end close, reconciliations, and reporting, while also acting as a key link between internal teams and external advisors.

Solid knowledge of UK GAAP and management reporting
Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW or equivalent preferred
Organised, proactive, and able to manage competing deadlines
Effective communicator with the ability to simplify technical matters for non-finance stakeholders
Team player with a continuous improvement mindset
Key responsibilities:
Prepare and review month-end journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and cut-off adjustments
Own balance sheet reconciliations across key control accounts and ensure timely clearance of items
Coordinate close timetable tasks with finance teams and stakeholders to meet reporting deadlines
Produce supporting schedules and working papers for financial line items
Support preparation of statutory accounts and coordinate audit requests
Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and company policies
Produce monthly management reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, KPI commentary) with variance analysis
Maintain driver-based reporting schedules and support forecasting cycles
Deliver ad-hoc financial analyses to support decision-making
Coordinate with tax advisors on corporate tax computations, VAT returns, and payroll/NIC reporting
Prepare tax-related schedules and support tax provision calculations
Maintain and improve internal controls, document processes, and assist with control testing
Identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency improvements
