Duties:
Month-end ?nancial reporting
Preparation and ownership of the Balance Sheet.
Prepare reconciliations of balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
To ensure routine month-end journals are recorded accurately
Capital accounting
Manage capital funding on behalf of the Group, including reporting to those responsible for capital expenditure on their use of funding.
Manage an internal round of bidding for the use of Group own-funded capital allocation.
Prepare returns as required by funders, within prescribed timetables.
Manage accounting for depreciation and deferred capital grants.
Manage the ?xed asset register.
Year End Accounting
Preparation of Statutory Accounts
Main point of contact with External and Internal Auditors
Preparation of Finance Record and CFFR for the DfE
Other
Complete and return to HMRC, the Group's VAT return and manage any VAT-related audits as and when required.
To administer, reconcile and submit funding claims as required.
To administer the ?nancial aspects of insurance, liaising with the appropriate managers and external bodies.
To carry out ad-hoc ?nancial reporting that might be required.
To provide essential cover to the main duties of other Finance team roles.
Skills/Experience:
Proven experience of working with decision-makers and senior
Management
Strong presentational and organization skills
Pro?cient in the use of the Accounting packages (SAGE), Microsoft
O?ce package Word and Outlook and in particular EXCEL.
Con?dent using di?erent communication technologies
Qualifications:
Minimum GCSE grade 4 / C in English & Maths or equivalent
Accounting Quali?cation - ACCA/CIMA/ACA
Educated to degree level of equivalent is desirable
Ideal Attributes:
Ability to plan and manage project-based work
Ability to communicate clearly and tactfully at di?erent levels, both orally and in writing
Ability to manage own time and prioritise with minimal supervision
