Hutcheon Mearns are recruiting on behalf of their established Engineering client based in Perth for a permanent Accountant to join their busy team. This position offers a varied role covering financial and management accounting and would suit individuals from both Practice or industry. Salary is 45,000 - 55,000 depending on experience + bonus, excellent pension & annual leave entitlement, hybrid working and a half day on a Friday.

The opportunity

Reporting to the Finance Director, you will complete accounting responsibilities covering statutory accounting, management accounting and general ledger. You will provide technical expertise, ensure compliance with IFRS & UK legislation and support senior management in all financial matters.


Key responsibilities include:


Preparation of annual statutory accounts under IFRS Liaison with external audit team and act as main point of contact for audit queries Preparation and submission of monthly management accounts including prepayments & accruals, journal preparation & postings Completion of quarterly VAT return Balance sheet reconciliations including identification of risk and corrective action

The candidate

You will ideally be a Qualified Accountant, however part qualified and qualified by experience individuals will also be considered. You will have strong financial accounting experience including statutory accounts production. You will be a proactive individual who possesses strong problem solving skills and good communication skills. You will possess a willingness to learn in-house finance systems and have good working knowledge in Excel.

Remuneration & benefits

Salary of 45,000 - 55,000 depending on experience + bonus

7% Employer pension contribution

34 days annual leave

Hybrid working (1 day a week from home)

Half day on a Friday
