In this role, you'll be working in a team where the purpose is to manage the core financial accounting for the Covea Insurance companies in the UK delivering financial control, reporting and support to the business on time, every time.

We are looking for a qualified Accountant, with Tax experience.

This role is fully remote, giving you the flexibility to work from the comfort of your home. Prefer the buzz of the office? You're welcome to come in whenever you like!

What are the core responsibilities?



Lead all Group tax processes with support from external advisors, including corporation tax returns, quarterly IPT, VAT, and CT61 submissions, and assessing the impact of new tax regulations. Take ownership of accounting and reporting for the services company, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Prepare monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts, investigating and resolving outstanding items promptly. Drive initiatives across management accounts to enhance controls, challenge existing processes, and improve reporting speed and accuracy. Provide analytical and professional support to the Finance Reporting team and wider Finance function. Lead the preparation of year-end financial accounts and schedules, supporting a smooth audit process. Build effective relationships across the business and with external specialists. Maintain clear and up-to-date accounting and financial reporting process documentation.

What will help you stand out?



Self-motivation and ability to work independently with integrity and a strong work ethic. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills. Collaborative team player who values inclusivity and cross-functional working. Proactive in planning and achieving objectives, with flexibility under pressure and tight deadlines. Builds constructive relationships across the business and with external stakeholders. High attention to detail and accuracy in all work. Strong communicator, confident engaging with stakeholders at all levels. Advanced Excel skills (e.g. VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, reporting). Proven experience leading tax processes in large organisations. Background in Finance within regulated industries (Financial Services/Insurance preferred). Degree-level education, ideally in Maths or Finance-related discipline. Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, or CIMA). Tax qualification desirable.
