Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Financial Accounting Manager to lead our financial accounting function and oversee credit control operations. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this pivotal role combines financial leadership, technical expertise and strategic influence; supporting our continuous improvement journey and helping shape the future of our organisation.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll take ownership of core

Financial Accounting & Compliance

activities, including:

Leading month-end and year-end close processes with precision and compliance. Managing statutory reporting and audit preparation. Overseeing balance sheet reconciliations and cash flow forecasting. Ensuring tax compliance (VAT, corporation tax, P11D, PSA). Managing payroll reporting, bank administration and payment controls. Supporting system improvements and strategic projects.

Credit Management:

Minimise bad debt risk and improve collection performance. Develop team members and promote effective stakeholder communication. Provide insightful reporting and enhance credit-related operations.

Corporate Solutions Support:

Provide financial analysis and reporting to support rebate calculations and tracking. Working with Finance Business Partners to assist the Corporate Solutions team, to operationalise billing and debt management solutions for key accounts/corporate clients.

Team Leadership

This role manages a team of six, including direct line management of the Credit Manager. You'll be instrumental in nurturing talent, driving engagement, and building capacity to deliver ambitious goals aligned with our values.

What we're looking for

Essential

ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualification, with proven financial accounting experience. Sound technical knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting. An eagle eye for detail, strong analytical skills and ethical integrity. Inspiring leadership and coaching capabilities. Confidence communicating with stakeholders across all levels. A growth mindset and the ability to lead transformation.

Desirable

Experience with Sage Intacct or SAP. Sector experience in accreditation, membership or building services.
