Job summary
Ofgem is Great Britain's independent energy regulator. Our primary responsibility is to protect energy consumers, especially the most vulnerable, while at the same time working with government, industry and consumer groups to deliver a clean, more affordable and secure net-zero energy system at the lowest cost to consumers, and drive economic growth.
The Financial Resilience and Controls Directorate is looking for a Financial Advisor to join the Investor Relations team. This is a high-impact role focused on strengthening trust and confidence in regulatory decisions across the energy sector.
You'll play a key role in shaping how we engage with the investment community, advising on market-sensitive communications, organising investor events, and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders including credit rating agencies, private equity firms and infrastructure investors.
Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you'll ensure investor perspectives are considered in policy development and strategic decision-making. Your insights will help senior leaders understand market sentiment and respond effectively to investor concerns.
As part of a collaborative and inclusive team of financial experts, you'll contribute to cross-cutting projects spanning corporate finance, regulatory reporting, retail financial monitoring and more. You'll also support senior management with briefing materials, organising logistics and messaging for external engagements.
We're looking for someone with an understanding of financial markets. You'll bring some experience in finance, economics or public policy, or demonstrate commercial acumen through a proven record of high performance and achievement. Excellent communication skills and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments are essential.
Significant ongoing weekly travel to London is expected as part of this role.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys working at pace, thrives on collaboration and wants to help deliver a greener, fairer energy system. You'll be part of a team committed to supporting the UK's Net Zero ambitions and ensuring the resilience of our energy market.
Your work will directly support Ofgem's mission to protect consumers, drive innovation and deliver a greener, more resilient energy system.
