The Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven
Financial Analyst
to join our finance team but also to work closely with our underwriting and collections teams as well as liaising with our private equity funders. The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing financial data, creating financial models, preparing reports, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making. This role requires strong analytical skills, business acumen, and the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyse financial data and performance metrics to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
Develop, maintain, and improve financial models and forecasting tools.
Prepare monthly performance analysis reports for management and external stakeholders.
Provide analysis to underpin the budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
Support strategic initiatives by providing financial analysis and scenario modelling.
Monitor industry trends, economic indicators, and competitor performance.
Collaborate with accounting, underwriting, and collections departments to gather data and ensure accurate reporting.
Recommend actions based on financial insights and support the implementation of cost-saving initiatives.
Ensure compliance with financial covenants and internal controls.
Assist in the preparation of presentations for executives, board members, or investors.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (Master's or MBA a plus).
2-5 years of experience in financial analysis, corporate finance, or a related role.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with financial and business intelligence software is a plus.
Solid understanding of financial modelling, and forecasting.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
Attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate and high-quality work.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
CFA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or other relevant financial certifications.
Previous experience in financial services is preferable but not essential.
Experience in reporting of asset-backed securities is beneficial.
Knowledge of data analytics tools or data warehousing is a plus.
