Main Purpose of the Role:



A fantastic opportunity for a finance professional possessing exceptional organisation and numerical skills, attention to detail, a high level of accuracy and the ability to adhere to tight working deadlines, partnered with the ability to communicate with all levels of seniority, to assist the Financial Controller.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:



Reporting to the Financial Controller for Sales and Gross Margin and working with the Finance Assistant.

Provide support to ensure that all the company's accounting allocations are appropriately made and documented down to gross profit level, with a focus on the timely and accurate reporting of the company's sales results and stock levels, integrating the D365 system wherever possible in order to achieve this.

Maintain internal controls over the company's accounting and financial procedures and ensure there are checks and balances in the system.

Provide accurate and timely reports. Duties include preparing weekly KPI results to ensure stock control, assistance with monthly balance sheet reconciliations, monitoring sales data and assisting with gross margin actual, budget and forecast reporting. Financial systems maintenance and master data accuracy is also a large part of the role.

Be skilled at in depth financial analysis and sales reporting, being proficient in spreadsheet use to help assess risk, analyse efficiencies and help inform decisions as and when required.

Be skilled in the use of Financial Systems and can use initiative to problem solve and look for solutions to issues independently.

Providing absence cover to the Financial Controller role where applicable.

Responsible for periodic bank reconciliations, some D365 cash postings and working alongside the Finance admin assistant.

Effective communication skills, with the ability to communicate to colleagues at all levels

Ability to work on own initiative, providing innovative solutions

Advanced Excel skills and knowledge (ideally including vlookup/sumif/macros), with the ability to follow/create complex spreadsheets

Strong analytical and reporting skills and experience

ACCA/CIMA/ACA/ATT part-qualified, or studying towards

Proven practical experience and/or achievements as set out by the ACCA/CIMA accountancy body

Desirable Criteria:

Degree and/or AAT qualified

Knowledge and/or experience of using D365 Financial System
