Job Description

As the

Financial Controller,

you will be a key part of the finance team with ambitious growth plans and a real desire to drive value creation through finance-led reporting and insight. Working closely with the Finance Director and business leaders, the role will be responsible for the management of the business' core finance and reporting outputs and business partnering with our Build-to-Rent and Residential businesses.


This role will be varied and challenging, supporting a large (and growing) property management business. You will build strong relationships and drive improvements to help this fast-paced business continue to thrive and will enjoy an environment that encourages the development of skills, knowledge and experience and offers long-term career progression. This is a 12 month fixed-term contract.

What will you do?



+ Have full responsibility for month end management accounts preparation including Profit & loss, Cashflow and balance sheet reporting. + Preparation of the monthly results and KPIs for Board pack reporting.
+ Business partner with the Senior Leadership Team
+ Develop, implement and monitor strategy, controls and procedures for the department and the business
+ Advise senior management on liquidity and financing opportunities
+ Ensure all regulatory filings are complete (VAT / PAYE / Companies House etc.)
+ Cash flow forecasting and management.
+ Improve efficiency and reduce costs across the business
+ Oversee and get involved with payroll processing
+ Participate and take responsibility for annual and interim audits
+ Mentor and support the development of the other team members
+ Support senior management team across Build-to-Rent and Residential business areas to drive commercial performance.
+ Review/Oversee joint venture business plan and management accounts.
+ Overseeing and managing the budget setting, forecasting, and reporting requirements urbanbubble main co.
+ Develop management information and KPIs
+ Financial accounts preparation
+ Preparation of VAT returns
+ Ensure that financial controls are in place, maintained and developed.
+ Contribute to improving current processes and systems
+ Participating in projects to drive insight into data and deliver solution
+ Support the Finance Director with any ad hoc workstreams

What are we looking for?




As a Financial Controller within urbanbubble, you will play a crucial role ensuring that our operational colleagues have accurate, timely and financial and non-financial information to enable robust decision-making.


Whilst support will be provided to grow into the role, working alongside a high calibre and motivated team under the mentorship of the Finance Director, it is essential that the successful candidate is motivated by value creation and is excited by an entrepreneurial environment.


With these factors in mind, the role will suit a high calibre, ambitious and adaptable accountant with excellent technical skills and a strong desire to drive improvements in reporting, processes, and controls as well as wider business improvements. Exposure to a faced paced SME environment would also be a distinct advantage.

Essential:



Highly analytical, including advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel Excellent with their communication skills to establish credibility and influence at all levels Skilled at using their judgement, initiative, and ability to overcome obstacles and find creative solutions Flexible with the ability to prioritise a busy workload UK recognised accountancy qualification - ACCA / CIMA / ACA Strong commercial awareness Experience of managing a team Ability to communicate effectively at all levels Strong analytical skills and hands on approach Excellent IT skills in Microsoft office, ideally also Access and Power BI packages


Desirable:

Experience within a fast-growing SME Understanding of the Residential sector
