What does the role involve?

Preparation of key financial information including management and statutory accounts and financial plans.

Main responsibilities and accountabilities:
  • Management Reporting: computation and presentation of accurate, timely and comprehensive management accounts, inclusive of insightful business analysis and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Cashflow and Working Capital Management: delivery of adequate cashflow through effective debtor and supplier management.
  • Statutory Accounts: preparation of the annual statutory financial statements and management of statutory audit and corporation tax processes.
  • Budget and Financial Plans: assist with the preparation of the organisation\'s annual budget and future financial plans.
  • Procedures & Systems: oversee all accounting procedures, financial transactions and systems used by the company.
  • Payroll: oversee payroll processing and pension fund compliance.
  • Customs: oversee customs duties and declarations.
  • Foreign Exchange analysis: monitor exchange rates and provide guidance as necessary.
  • Reports: meet all statutory and regulatory financial requirements on a timely basis.
  • Partnership: partner other functions to support delivery of operational targets.
  • Team Management: supervision of finance team personnel, including performance management, allocation of resources, motivation, training and support.
  • Board Responsibilities: Interaction with Group Board of Directors.
What skills & qualifications you will need?
  • Relevant experience of working in an accounting, finance or audit environment - within this period, experience must include the supervision of staff and preparation of management accounts
  • Experience of completing VAT/statutory returns
  • Experience of payroll processes and software
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of accounting concepts/principles
  • Ability to manipulate large volume of data and experience of carrying out detailed analysis of data
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and a methodical approach
  • Good financial analytical skills with a good level of numeracy and ability to problem solve.
  • The ability to work under pressure and to demanding and sometimes conflicting deadlines.
  • Ability to lead and supervise a team
  • Excellent IT Skills, specifically Microsoft Office
