Job Description

As the Financial Controller, You will be responsible for overseeing all day-to-day accounting operations including monthly management accounts process, reconciliations, monitoring budget variances, financial forecasting, annual financial reporting budgeting and ensuring an effective credit control process is maintained

The Role



Reporting directly to the managing director, the Financial Controller will be responsible for all aspects of financial management, from day-to-day bookkeeping oversight to strategic planning and reporting. This is a varied, hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities



Manage all aspects of the finance function, including monthly management accounts, P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Monitor cost of goods sold, stock valuation, and production costings Oversee payroll, VAT returns, and statutory compliance Maintain and improve financial controls and procedures Support operational decision-making with financial insights Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and banking partners

What We're Looking For



Experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment (food industry experience a strong advantage) Strong understanding of cost accounting and inventory control Proficient in using accounting software (e.g. Sage and Excel) Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently Flexible, practical, and proactive approach--happy to "roll up your sleeves"
