We are seeking a highly capable and detail-oriented
Financial Controller
to oversee the financial management of a group of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial records, preparing monthly management accounts, overseeing payments and reconciliations, and providing key financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting & Management Accounts
Prepare accurate
monthly management accounts
(PnL) for each entity within the group
2. Payments & Cash Management
Manage
weekly and monthly payment runs
, including payroll, supplier invoices, tax liabilities, and intercompany transfers.
Monitor and manage cash flow across all companies in the group, ensuring appropriate liquidity.
3. Xero & Bookkeeping Oversight
Maintain and reconcile
Xero
accounting systems across all group companies.
Ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and properly categorized.
Oversee or perform regular
bank, creditor, and debtor reconciliations
.
4. Strategic Support
Provide financial analysis to support business decisions, pricing strategies, and investment opportunities.
Identify financial risks and propose mitigations.
Work closely with directors to support growth and improve profitability across the group.
Key Requirements:
Proven experience in a Finance or Accountant role
Strong knowledge of Xero accounting software.
Comfortable with managing finances across multiple entities or a group structure is essential.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: 34,000.00-38,000.00 per year
