Financial Controller - Up to \xc2\xa390k plus 20% bonus and car allowance - FTSE 250 business

This role reports in to the Finance Director and will be responsible for the following:

  • Work within the Finance Team to provide high quality and accurate financial analysis and forecasting support aligned to strategic and customer priorities, within the commercial mechanisms of the contract.
  • Day to day this means working with Operational teams to develop, populate and refine cost models and provide the region with an accurate picture of the historic and future financial performance and satisfy internal reporting/governance requirements.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring financial modelling is performed in accordance with best practice, high standards of integrity as well as applicable accounting standards and that cost capture and risk identification is comprehensive.
  • The role requires the delivery of accurate financial forecasting models to the Business
  • Unit and operational contract support as required.
  • Understanding actual v forecast variances to feed back into improved model assumptions.
  • Work within the contract to challenge assumptions and make recommendations for efficiency improvements in order to sustain and grow profitability.
  • Provide general ongoing continuous improvement activities for the Finance Team as a whole, such as cost reduction/profit enhancement initiatives, process improvement, cost model enhancements, and scenario planning to determine a range of potential financial outcomes.
Financial Controller role for a market leading FTSE 250 business|Up to \xc2\xa390k plus car allowance, 20% bonus & car allowance (2-3 days WFH)

Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with experience of working in a large and complex environment and experience of process improvement and lease accounting will be considered favourably

Experience:
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding and adoption of the companies values and ethics.
  • Experience of supporting and contributing to external audit cycles for a large business.
  • Experience of working with a shared service centre and
  • Experience of delivering change across a multi stakeholder matrix environment
Technical skills:
  • Up to date knowledge of international accounting standards and industry best practices and accounting skills including IFRS16
  • Process and/or operational excellence implementations and understanding of continuous improvement.
  • Good understanding of finance systems and standardised processes
  • Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills to influence
  • Excellent MS Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
