About the Role

A growing organisation is seeking an experienced

Financial Controller

to take ownership of its day-to-day finance operations. Reporting to the Finance Director, this is a senior position with real influence across the business. The successful candidate will lead the finance team, ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting, and effective cashflow management, whilst also identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and strengthen processes.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and develop the finance team, creating a collaborative and high-performance culture Maintain strong financial controls, ensuring compliance across all entities Deliver timely and accurate monthly reporting, including P&L and variance analysis Oversee cashflow forecasting, banking relationships, and funding arrangements Manage intercompany reconciliations, revenue reconciliations, and balance sheet reviews Supervise VAT returns, corporation tax compliance, and year-end audit preparation Drive continuous improvement by refining finance processes and systems Support special projects and ad hoc reviews as required by senior leadership

What We're Looking For

Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) Strong technical accounting expertise Experience leading and developing a finance team Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities Analytical with a high attention to detail Confident communicator, able to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels Proactive, adaptable, and solutions-focused, with a continuous improvement mindset
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 65,000.00-75,000.00 per year

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Chester CH1 2AR
