Financial Controller

Island Meadow Parks is a family business that manages seven quiet and picturesque caravan parks in the UK.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our small and friendly head office team based at Bracklesham, near Chichester. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations of our organisation, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all financial reporting. This position requires a strong background in financial management and proficiency in Sage accounting software.

Duties will include:

All aspects of Sales and Purchase Ledger

End to end bookkeeping through to bank reconciliation

VAT Returns

Preparation of annual accounts for inspection by our external auditors

Produce ageing debtor and creditor reports on a monthly basis

Process staff expenses

Managing monthly payroll

Preparation and inputting of monthly journals

Handling customer and supplier enquiries

Credit control

Financial management of company-wide projects

Producing reports for the board of directors

General office admin

The ideal candidate will have experience of managing the finance function in a high transaction environment. This is a busy and varied role that will require a strong candidate with a background in high volume multi departmental accounts.

Extensive experience with Sage Line 50

Computer literate and proficient in Excel

Experience of database systems

Organised, accurate, versatile and helpful

Able to manage your time and to prioritise workloads effectively

A professional qualification in accounts is preferable although we would also consider candidates qualified by experience if they are right for the role

A willingness to learn new skills and take on new responsibilities

Good communications skills and a confident telephone manner
