We are presently recruiting for a Financial Controller to join our team. This role offers an ambitious and experienced qualified accountant an opportunity to join our organisation and work with the Hotel General Manager and Board of Directors on continuing to develop our first-class offering to a broad range of customers from across the world.

As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Accounts department, preparation and ongoing management of the hotel's financial budgets, implementing and overseeing all financial controls and procedures, producing weekly performance reports, monthly management accounts and liaising with the external accountants on annual statutory accounts.

Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing working capital, cash controls and general financial management of all areas of our business.

The Role



The Financial Controller reports directly to the Hotel General Manager. You will have responsibility for:

Financial management and control



Providing the Hotel General Manager and Board of Directors with financial information and analysis to drive improved operational performance across all parts of the business;

Maintaining and developing controls to maximise efficiency, profitability and cash flow;

Utilising financial and management experience to ensure the effective running of the accounts and administration team;

Preparing year-end financial statements for review by the external accountants and tax advisors;

Preparing all budgets, cashflow forecasts, financial projections and analysis to support business planning;

Systems



Continuously improving financial systems and automated processes across all areas of the business to ensure seamless transfer of information between systems and maximising efficiency across all operations;

Assisting in designing and rolling out new systems to assist with the future growth and development of the business;

Sales/customers



Revenue reporting by team and division (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual);

Oversight of invoicing, cash collection and credit control;

Purchases/suppliers



Purchase order control / management;

Maximising purchasing efficiencies and economies of scale across all areas of the business;

Ensuring supplier accounts managed promptly and all accounts paid on time;

Banking



Responsible for Admin staff processing all lodgements and payments across all company bank accounts;

Reconciliation of all company bank accounts and bank facilities;

Petty cash management/reconciliation;

Cashflow forecasting and monthly reporting actual v budgets;

Payroll



Oversight of payroll processing and reporting to HMRC and pensions provider;

Regulatory



Liaising with external accountants in preparation of annual statutory accounts, ensuring full compliance with all tax and regulatory filing requirements; and

Liaising with HMRC and Companies House as required.

Qualification



Third level qualification in Accounting, Finance or relevant discipline

ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified with 2+ years PQE

Experience



Extensive use of computerised accounting packages;

Demonstrable use of own initiative, making a difference and bringing one's own ideas to make a positive contribution to employer's business;

Ability to operate without direct supervision; and

Relevant industry experience (desirable).
