Overview

an exciting opportunity for a hands-on immediate start Financial Controller. The ideal profile is a qualified accountant with a strong experience as a Financial Controller, with the ability to work independently and cover many tasks simultaneously. The FC will be based in the company offices in Coventry and will be required to travel from time to time. They will report to the Regional MD Initially on a 3/6-month temp (long term sick cover) opportunity to permanent contract, joining the team in a busy and diverse role during a time of exciting changes.

Key responsibilities
Own the ledgers and finance system - Daily maintenance of the Finance system, covering all daily processes and controls.
Oversee the purchase ledger functions, supported by a transactional Assistant.
Oversee the sales ledger functions, associated systems and bank reconciliations.
Regular bank reconciliations and associated transactions.
Oversee daily cashflow management / planning and bank accounts maintenance.
Oversee / Operate Inter-Co transactions and maintain associated reconciliations.
Work closely with Group Operations to ensure controls, coding, reconciliations and reporting structures are correct.
Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns.
Produce monthly P&L accounts.
Support the preparation of Year-end statutory accounts and associated transactions, reports and returns for external auditors Senior Management and Directors.
Manage workload and performance of Finance Assistants, ensuring satisfactory performance, role development and job satisfaction.

Experience:

Significant experience in financial accounting, financial management, and leadership roles, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in accounting software, financial modelling, and data analysis.

Soft Skills:

Strong communication, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
