The opportunity



We are seeking a highly capable and experienced Financial Controller with a strong background in manufacturing finance and group accounting. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting manufacturing operations and flowing that through to margin/profitability analysis. Experience required in managing consolidated accounts across multiple entities, preferably with exposure to US accounting and compliance.

This is a pivotal role for a results-driven individual who thrives on delivering accurate financial reporting, ensuring compliance, and providing strategic support to the business. You will work closely with the CFO and collaborate with the US Finance and Commercial Manager ensuring seamless coordination between UK and US finance operations.

Key responsibilities



Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements for a manufacturing Group.

Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes for all Group entities.

Maintain the Group's general ledger and ensure all intercompany accounts are reconciled.

Prepare statutory accounts and coordinate the annual audit process.

Ensure compliance with all relevant tax, legal, and regulatory requirements in the UK and US.

Collaborate closely with the US Finance and Commercial Manager to ensuring seamless coordination between UK and US finance operations.

Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management.

Develop and monitor internal controls and risk management processes.

Manage, mentor, and develop the finance team across multiple locations.

Drive process improvements and automation within the finance function.

Provide financial insight and support to other departments and Group entities.

Act as a key point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.

Your profile



Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or minimum 5+ years in senior finance roles.

Strong background in manufacturing finance.

Demonstrable experience in group accounting and consolidation.

Strong knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory compliance.

Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management.

Highly organised, analytical, and performance-driven, with a track record of meeting objectives.

Self-motivated and comfortable managing your own workload with a high degree of autonomy.

Experience in international operations (UK and US).

Exposure to defence or regulated industries.

Familiarity with ERP systems and digital finance tools.

Experience in reviewing commercial contracts and NDAs.
