Job Description

Imperium Commodity Search is retained by an energy trading house seeking a financial controller in London. With a growing front office in both physical and paper trading, the requirement for a financial controller with experience in the commodity trading space has opened up.
Duties & Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the general accounting functions including trade accounts/positions
• Work closely with the management team in accomplishing the group's financial objectives through stringent financial planning and administration
• Act as a point of contact to front office personnel on all finance matters related to trade (both physical and paper)
• Financial & Accounting Operation Management
• Monitor and enforce operational and internal control procedures as well as the company's internal financial control environment.
• Perform Monthly, quarterly and year end closing in accordance with the internal and external deadlines.
• Controls and plans of all audit requirements within set deadlines the auditors
• Develop, train, and contribute to continuously improving the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the finance team on the requirements from HQ / internal Audit / External Audit
• Reports into CFO

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years' experience working in a similar function within a commodity trading environment with exposure to both physical and paper trading
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Thorough knowledge of IFRS
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of organization
• Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results
• Advanced Microsoft Excel
• Fluent in English
