We are seeking a Finance Controller, Europe & Middle East, to lead finance operations across 8 legal entities spanning Europe and the Middle East. This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who thrives on complexity, enjoys continuous learning, and is comfortable rolling up their sleeves to get into the details.
The Role
You will own financial close, reporting, controls, and compliance while collaborating closely with global finance leadership and regional teams to drive consistency, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Lead monthly and annual close for all Europe & ME entities
Prepare, review, and approve consolidated and entity-level financial statements (GAAP/IFRS)
Oversee auction accounting, including settlements, VAT, and reporting (~100 transactions per auction cycle)
Lead all external, internal, statutory, and tax audits
Review and approve journal entries, AP/AR, fixed assets, and bank transactions
Oversee multi-currency cash management, banking, and payroll (~50 employees)
Manage tax, VAT, and statutory compliance across multiple jurisdictions
Work with various local finance advisors to prepare local accounts and tax reporting
Design and maintain strong internal controls and oversee finance systems
Lead and develop a team of 3 finance professionals
Support budgeting, forecasting, and cross-regional initiatives
Ideal Candidate
A hands-on finance leader who loves continuous learning and new challenges
Comfortable diving deep into accounting systems, processes, and transactions
Experienced in multi-entity, multi-currency, and cross-border environments
Advanced knowledge of European VAT is a strong asset for the role
Collaborative, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven
