The Opportunity

We're seeking a

Financial Controller

to lead and develop our finance function. You'll work closely with the Board of Directors, delivering financial insights that drive growth and ensure regulatory compliance. This is a hands-on, strategic role with real influence and visibility within the business.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the full finance function: billing, credit control, accounts payable, payroll, management accounts, and financial systems Prepare monthly management accounts, P&L, and cashflow forecasts; present to the Board Manage and review work of the Finance Assistant Ensure compliance with Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) standards Lead VAT returns, audits, and year-end reporting Support strategic planning, budgeting, and process improvement Implement and streamline financial workflows and systems

About You

ACA part-qualified or equivalent Proven senior-level finance experience (law firm experience preferred but not essential) Advanced Excel skills and exceptional attention to detail Strong commercial awareness and ability to deliver actionable insight Comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines Experience driving process improvement and system implementation
